Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. A man at their executive level apologized to me concerning Hughesnet ' s inaccurate and confusing accounting and billing practices.
Don't ever do business with Hughesnet for any Hi tech communications. Don't apply for or use their Wifi or Internet services.
But as soon as I asked to please extend it again, they did not , even though they said they would, of course they lied, and now they have continued without my permission to restart my monthly payments again!
And just today they charged me $130.00 without my prior permission to do so. Their workers are some of the most incompetent and irresponsible people I have ever had to deal with in my whole life!, and I will be filing an official complaint with this Company too.

I upgraded with them being promised better service. It was worse.
A lot worse. I know others who agree. My new provider told me that he wonders how they can still be in business. I could only get 200 gigs.
Halfway through the month it was gone.
They wanted $200 more for tokens. That would have put my monthly bill at $300.

- - Representatives and the installer claimed unlimited service; the claims proved false as the allotment was used in 13 days for about $111.
A group of liars. In a previous career as a network engineer, I do and did know what to ask before any service was agreed, received, etc.
I asked both the representative on the phone at the time of agreeing to service as well as the installer when he arrived, if this service was unlimited and if HughesNet ever throttled service (reduce internet service). They all lied; every time.
We had to shut down almost all internet use except for a laptop used for work including thermostats, garage door openers, etc. No streaming or video games yet used up all our allotment in 13 days and all for about $111.00.

I strongly caution anyone considering HughesNet. My experience has been a long string of unauthorized charges, billing deception, and poor customer service.
Unauthorized Charges: HughesNet added a $50 pole mount fee to my bill without telling me.
I declined all optional services at installation and was told installation fees were waived. I was never informed of this fee or that I was signing for it. Only after multiple Better Business Bureau complaints was the charge finally removed.
AutoPay Without Consent: I never enrolled in AutoPay and even received an email from HughesNet confirming I was not enrolled. Despite that, they kept AutoPay active and repeatedly attempted to withdraw money from my account without permission.
They have refused to remove it, and my bill remains unpaid solely because they will not fix this issue.
Customer Service Failures: I contacted support numerous times and escalated directly to CEO Pradman Kaul. He chose not to respond, and the company still hasnt resolved the AutoPay problem.
The delays and refusal to act show a lack of urgency and disregard for customers rights.
I will not make any payment until AutoPay is deactivated, and I will not accept late fees caused by their refusal to resolve their own billing violations. HughesNets actions are unacceptable, and I am now pursuing complaints with the FCC, FTC, and other consumer protection agencies.
If you value transparency, billing accuracy, and responsive service: look elsewhere.

- - We paid about $300 in early termination fees.
- - The modem was returned and the dish remains; bills say we owe hundreds and no tech was removed.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. All was settled quickly. Screenshot everything when dealing with business contracts..the fine print..it works in your favor to be informed.
Meanwhile, the huge dish is still on private property, and we get another bill saying we still owe hundreds of dollars. No tech ever came to remove anything or replace anything, but they want the customer to disassemble equipment we are not familiar with at all. They refused to send anyone unless, of course, more money.
I truly hope they have all audio as they claim when we cancelled, when we paid, because I do have the screenshot from my bank that they are in fact paid and terminated. Harassment, and no, we owe nothing else to this company.

No matter how many times we've called them and asked them for our rewards card they give us the run around transfers to different people say it's not the right account number yet we pay every month Said it would be there in 6 to 10 days about five times we're just on the internet with them two days ago just we don't even know what to do they just don't want to give us some money they're cheaters and liars. To chop it off we're locked in for another year and a half or we have to pay him like 400 bucks to get out of there they were recommended to be the best one in the area here in Fillmore Utah

I got HughesNet installed in April 2025, and unfortunately, I still have it. The only reason that I still have it is because I'm locked in a 20-month contract, which I wasn't informed about until I already had the service. If I terminate early or if I don't pay the bill and they shut off the service, I will be sued for $400 to $500.
Preferred solution: A disconnection without being sued
User's recommendation: Do not get this service. It is poor quality internet and they are scammers who will get as much money from you as they can. Also your high speed data runs out quickly and they make you purchase what they call tokens to get it back. Everytime it rains the Internet goes out

The only thing to do is nothing because they are not going to change customer service from India to the USA what a dam shame just don't support the company is all we can do.

- - Tried to cancel 60 days ago and payments paused.
- - Unauthorized card charge and I want the account closed with no charges and equipment credits.
Tried to cancel account 60 days ago, asked all kinds of questions (which were not any of their business) and ended suspending payments for 60 days so I could think about it, then we would talk again. Got no call from anyone but did get an unauthorized charge on my credit card which is criminal!
Want account closed (no charges), and send equipment back for credits.
Worst customer service ever.
Fix the inert net service. We h a very called 6 times waiting for someone to call us back. Still nothing.

Hughsnet is the worst! Take our word for it!
They've ruined our house w their big dish. Was told it was small an would fit on my porch! The service was not good an they just wanted me to buy tokens. Don't use them.
I called last week to cancel, they said ok, then this week they took out 280.00 early termination fee. That was all the money my kids an I had. I begged for it back! Over an hour on the phone.
Idk what to do now! I'm so angry bc we needed to buy groceries. I've got eggs, bread, milk. No Easter for them.
No money for us.
Plz plz take this warning, bypass hughsnet! They're criminals.
